My photography career began in 2009, when I became Photo Editor + Staff Photographer for Seattle Magazine and Seattle Business Magazine.
For over a decade, I had the privilege of capturing hundreds of artists, politicians, CEOs, musicians, entrepreneurs, chefs and the fascinating spaces they occupied.
I also took on freelance assignments from national publications like The Guardian, Washington Post, Fast Company, Filter, OUT Magazine and The Sunday Times (UK).
I began directing music videos in 2010, thanks in large part to my still camera offering motion capture capabilities and the amazing community of friends and creatives that helped bring those early works to life.
Watching my music videos gain millions of views for the artists I adored (and the labels that represent them) was incredible and, over time, helped to launch my career in video direction and production.
In 2020, I became Executive Producer of CURATOR Pictures where I built a nationwide network of female/LGBTQIA+/BIPOC creative and production partners. Together, we produced content for national brands like Nike, REI, Starbucks, Walt Disney World, Microsoft and others.
In 2023, I was invited to join the Board of Photographic Center Northwest, Seattle’s hub for the photographic arts.
Today, as owner of Hayley Young LLC, I provide current and new clients with project consultation, creative development and production services for photography and video projects.
I love people. Telling human stories through motion and photography continues to be a childhood dream come true.
